I was more than ready to get out and move.
Do you get that feeling of being stifled when you have not moved as your temperament dictates?
After breakfast I downloaded my map and headed up the same path as yesterday. Earlier speaking with a store clerk who looked like quite the runner. We discussed my proposed route and I set out.
He regularly trains on this and many other paths. I come to the sign Where I diverge from yesterday’s route and start following this “path” through a very boggy area that the clerk said last a couple of of hundred yards.
I’m climbing watching stepping so as not to drop into a deep puddle. Damn, found that one. Soaked shoe.”When you get higher it dries out”

I get to the ridge without any sign of the dry path.
Now where do I go?

Maybe I’ll see it if I go higher and can scan

Looking the other direction I see the lochs that are the water source for the town, but no path.
Not going to to find it today. The good news the wool socks are keeping. My damp feet warm.
So I pick my way back down to the trail intersection.
I’m rereading the path description, and there I see the turn I missed.
I start again and this is even boggier and more indistinct.
Turn around again and head towards town.
I’m going down the road when I come upon this

Looks like someone had ascended into the sky.
Returned to town, grabbed more food and water and began waking the other way, hoping to find the trailhead where the mornings attempt would have finished.
I’m on course when I come upon this group.

He proceeds into the middle of the path.
Will he or won’t he?
Are they tame farm animals or wild, Who have wandered into this farm area.
This 74 year old ain’t out running a ram of breeding age .
If I guess wrong it will be right ball in my side pocket.
Turn around again, back to hotel to make use of a hair dryer for the wet shoes.
As I’m heading back, I’m listening to Jimi’s Opus Electric Ladyland when “Rainey Day dream away, “ comes on. So does the rain. Song ends rain ends.
I do enjoy wandering, you never know what will happen, and you DO FEEL SO ALIVE!
Paul – I really envy ewe. Ray
