We leave our friend Nessie.
We were rolling suitcases through Inverness at 7 :15 AM hoping to out run the rain to the bus station . Found a place for breakfast.

While eating heard the pitterpatter begin, which turned into an incessant pounding on the skylights above our heads.
Waiting as long as possible before heading to bus station.
As we walked it decreased, stopping when we were on board., Nice bus and train ride to Mallaig
Lunch at The Cabin with the most entertaining waiter .
This guy had the 6 proverbial plates that he was spinning on sticks. Some one asks for 2 cappuccino’s.
He says I’ll do what I can. Family of three come in and their questioning about the menu could have come from “ Five Easy Pieces”
He’s working 4 other tables. You hear “ oh crap” I’m outta milk! I’ll be right back “
He dashes out of the restaurant, returns 2 minutes later
Takes care of a couple of bills.
Then you hear”Well it’s been
a few decades but here are the Cappuccinos “
It went on like this for the whole meal.
One of our views

Afterwards, we found out that between ferry schedules, bus schedules and wait times you can’t day trip to Isle of Skye.
So we’re going to come up with plan B.
I got in a hike before dinner.
Years ago while hiking in The Lake District for a day, I put on MArvin Gaye’s “ What’s Going On“, for the sound track for the day.
Seemed a good time to give another listen. The rhythm is a great walking pace. So I got to dance up and down the glens.
“Whoa Mercy,Mercy me, Things ain’t what they used to be…..”
